My girlfriend had to go to the gynecologist the other day and her test results showed positive for gonorrhea. This completely confused me because l am her only partner and she is mine as we are only 16 and have been dating for two years now. We both absolutely know that neither of us have cheated or have had any other partners. I am really scared as to how she got it and l am wondering is there any other way to get it, such as the tanning bed or any other possibility. We are very confused and frustrated because there is no possible way that this std was was actually sexually transmitted. l do not know if this helps, but the test came from a swab from her cervix. l am absolutely positive that l am her only partner including orally. She has been my best friend my entire life and trust me, we did have a talk about if there was any other person that she had sexual relations with. We are both our firsts for everything, even our first kiss. We are getting her re-tested though just to make sure because l read something about if you pee before the doctor gets a sample, it could mess with the test results(and she did go before she went). If she has gonorrhea & u do not Hmmmmmm..You need to talk with ur physician & have him explain to u how this disease is acquired. It is not like flu, it is not passed around in the air or by touching an area that someone has coughed on.

l know u r frustrated but u also need to be more inquisitive as this cannot happen without some activity on her part.

You might have her take another test to be sure the diagnosis was not wrong. Once in while that happens.

l have to be honest with you, there is no other way she could have contracted the STD unless she was active with someone else.
Are you positive that she was not with someone before you guys were together?
And are you positive that she has not been active with anyone else recently?
You should get her retested, but if it comes out positive again, you may want to have a discussion with her.

According to a Registered Nurse in my family, u can only get Gonorrhea from sexual contact. There is no other way that it can be transmitted. Gonorrhea can be transmitted from genitals to genitals, gentials to mouth, & mouth to genitals. If ur girlfriend has had oral sex with someone that she did not know was infected, she could have contracted it that way, & by having oral sex & then sex with you, it could have spread to u both genitally.

What is good about this is that Gonorrhea is absolutely curable with the right antibiotics, which l am sure her doctor prescribed for her. If u r absolutely sure she has not had any other partners (and u have not as well) then this is a medical mystery.

Gonorrhea is a Sexually Transmitted Disease. If she is your only partner, then she has definitley caught it from another partner. Go take a trip to the doctors and get yourself treated. This girl is untrustworthy.
