It is an infection that babies and women get. When a woman gets it, it means that the ph balance in her vagina is off balance. It is not a std, but if a men has sex with a woman with a yeast infection then he can get it.

A yeast infection is when the pH of ur vagina gets all out of whack & the yeast that normally lives in ur vagina multiplies out of control. Generally, there r good bacteria that live in ur vagina & they eat the yeast & keep the population at a normal level. but when you're on antibiotics, they also kill this good bacteria.. hence.. a yeast infection.

Sprays, powders, douches,.. these r also causes of yeast infections.

When l first started having sex, l would get them like crazy. My partner did not have a yeast infection, though. l guess sex can cause them too.

You can get rid of it when OTC medicine, like Monistat. Ask ur doctor or pharmacist to recommend something.
