It depends on who has the disease, & where.

If the girl has genital herpes (usually Herpes Simplex Virus type 2) & the guy licks her, he can get HSV-2 virus infection in his mouth, which can cause mouth sores.

If the guy is d*** has herpes & the girl gives him oral, she can get mouth sores from herpes.

If they have sex, they can give eachother genital herpes.

Condoms reduce the transmission rate for herpes but do not prevent it. Transmission is most likely if u can SEE sores or herpes lesions on the person is whatever.

when you have herpes monogomy becomes the best policy.

you can take valtrex, its a drug that is suppose to make outbreaks occur less often, but there is still the possibility of spreading it around.

my advice is to settle down with a dude that also has herpes.believe me there are a lot of them. or just be honest. do not give it to someone who dos not know they might catch it from you. it is just not nice.

For safer oral sex, using a condom (for oral sex on a penis) or a dam (for oral sex on a vulva or anus) is still safer than nothing at all. A dam is a thin, square piece of latex that is placed over the clitoris, vulva, or anus. You can also use a non-lubed condom by pulling off the ring & cutting along one side to make a rectangle; or, use a small piece of plastic wrap (preferably non-microwaveable wrap because it is less porous).

And just to be clear, herpes can be transmitted by either the giver or receiver of oral sex. It is possible for the person giving oral sex to get herpes if their partner has genital herpes & a sore is active or there is viral shedding. It is also possible for the person giving oral sex to give herpes to their parther, if they have an active herpes sore or viral shedding on their mouth.

l have both oral and genital herpes and l still get all of that from my boy friend but he has the same type of herpes that l do, l got them from him in the first place but we still love each other.
You just have to be really careful not to have any kind of sex when you have an out break.
